Arsenal have reached an agreement with Diamond Football Academy in Nigeria over the signing of under-17 players Samuel Chukwueze and Kelechi Nwakali.
The two youngsters have been scouted by several big clubs after their impressive displays at the FIFA U17 World Cup saw Nigeria win the competition for a fifth time in November.
Reports from last week suggested that Arsenal’s chief scout and Arsene Wenger were looking to lure the duo to London despite the interest of Manchester City and Bayern Munich.
According to reports, representatives from the club have now agreed to a combined £6million deal for the Nigerian teenagers who are currently owned by Diamond Football Academy.
Should the pair complete their move, Nwakali and Chukwueze will be immediately drafted into the club’s underage team for their upcoming fixtures in the UEFA Youth League.
The pair are unlikely to feature for the Arsenal first team this season with new addition Mohamed Elneny now available while other youngsters Alex Iwobi and Jeff Reine-Adelaide are higher in the pecking order.
