Jürgen Klopp, the Liverpool manager, is ready to make a move for
Alexandre Lacazette, the Lyon forward, ahead of Premier League rivals
Manchester United.
Lacazette had hoped to join Atlético Madrid, however a transfer ban
on the Spanish club means the France international will have to look
elsewhere if the 26-year-old wants to leave his hometown club.
After scoring 37 goals last season, the £50 million-rated Lacazette
is, according to the Express, now top of Klopp's shopping list.
Despite saying he wants Lacazette to stay at the club, Lyon chairman Jean-Michel Aulas has admitted that the player's future is 'under scrutiny'.

“We will have to meet with Alex again," Aulas said. “We will have to
see what will happen in the future, but today the decision to let
Alexandre go is now under scrutiny.
“I would prefer that he stays. In the context of our competitiveness and our desire to build a truly great team for next season.

"Lyon has a lot of very good players and if Alexandre does not leave it will be another player in very similar conditions.
Another player who remains linked with a move to Liverpool is Virgil van Dijk who, despite being heavily linked with a move to Manchester City, has yet to agree a deal with the Eastlands club. Depending, that is, on who you believe.

It had been reported that the Southampton centre-back had agreed a
deal worth £60m with City who were prepared to pay the Dutchman £200,000
a week for the next five years. The Liverpool Echo, though, is saying
the 25-year-old has not signed and Klopp remains convinced he can lure
Van Dijk to Anfield with the promise of a bright future and whatever
else a manger on a tight budget – compared to City, at least – must do.
Good luck with that Jürgen.
Meanwhile, Liverpool are hoping to complete their second transfer of the summer this week in what may prove to be a club record fee for Roma’s Mohamed Salah but, according to the Daily Mail, have a fight on their hands if they are to keep hold of midfielder Emre Can. A report in the Mail claims Juventus are ready to make a move for the 23-year-old midfielder who has yet to agree a new deal with the Merseysiders.

Elsewhere on Merseyside, Romelu Lukaku remains centre of attention as
Chelsea remain hopeful of taking their former striker back to Stamford
Bridge while, according to The Independent, the man who sanctioned the
striker's sale to Everton is now keen on scuppering the move and luring
the Belgian to Manchester United. Now that's what we call a bizarre
love triangle.
Another report, this time in the Express, claims that Everton manager Ronald Koeman is ready to make a 'shock' move for striker Jamie Vardy as replacement for Lukaku should, or more likely when, he leaves Goodison Park.

Despite signing a new £100,000-a-week deal last year after winning
the Premier League title with Leicester City, Vardy may now be ready to
quit the club which faces a mini exodus after Riyad Mahrez was, once
again, linked with a move to Arsenal.
