New Arsenal signing Mohamed Elneny has first training session with Gunners teammates

The north Londoners announced the signing of the midfielder earlier today and he has wasted no time in getting used to his new surroundings

Arsenal new boy Mohamed Elneny has taken part in his first training session after the club confirmed his signing earlier today.
The Egyptian midfielder got to grips with his new surroundings and worked alongside teammates ahead of the Gunners' trip to Stoke on Sunday.
Elneny, 23, has moved for a fee believed to be in the region of £5million, and will earn £60,000-a-week in wages.
Speaking to the club about the move, the 39-cap international said: “It is an indescribable feeling, I am really glad of course.
“Arsenal is one of the world’s greatest teams, and I am very keen to participate positively with my new team, God willing, and to give my best for the team and for myself.

“Arsenal is one of those teams that everyone enjoys watching and of course I would love to play for such a great team.
“Mr Wenger is a highly respected manager and one of the world’s best managers. It is my honour to be trained under his management.
“It is one the biggest clubs in the world, I know everything about it and its players."

Elneny has been brought in to provide competition and cover for holding midfielder Francis Coquelin, although he can also operate slightly further forward.
The former Al Ahly man has firmly established himself at Basel during his three seasons at the club, picking up three Swiss Super League titles along the way.
This deal is almost certainly the only first team signing Arsenal will do in January, with Arsene Wenger preferring to wait until the summer to secure his other major targets.
