If your New Year's resolution is to be better at fantasy football, then you've come to the right place
Happy New Year fantasy football managers.
The year 2016 may be among us, but the fantasy football season ploughs on regardless.
And if your team has been on the slide recently, then perhaps one of your New Year's resolutions should be to knuckle down and start climbing your way back up the table.
This weekend sees the second half of the Premier League season get under way, so there's plenty of points to be had and we're here to point you in the right direction.
Here's our guide to who you should bring in or leave out this weekend...
Key injuries/ suspensions
Despite the congestive festive period trying it's hardest, there's not been many key injuries over the last two weeks.
Alexis Sanchez remains sidelined for Arsenal, while Divock Origi will sit out the next couple of weeks for Liverpool.
The biggest news here is the imminent return of West Ham winger Dimitri Payet, who was fast becoming a fantasy favourite before limping off against Everton at the start of November. He's not guaranteed to play against Liverpool this weekend, it's worth freeing up a spot for him in your side.
Favourable match-ups of the week
Look to the league leaders to supply your team with goals this weekend.
Arsenal love playing Newcastle, having won the last eight games between the two sides and from the evidence we've seen so far from the pair offers no reasons to think this could change.
The Gunners look serious about their title campaign this season and go into the new year leading the way for a change. If they repeat one of their second half of the season surges that have become their trademark in recent years, then Arsene Wenger may well get his hands back on the Premier League trophy.
Big names/bandwagons to avoid
Everyone's waiting for Sergio Aguero to fire again - but he's not worth throwing the money at just yet.
The Argentine was again subbed off last time out against Leicester and is not back to his usual self. With so much of his game depending on his explosiveness, his goalscoring return suffers when he looks heavy legged and Quique Sanchez-Flores' robust side are not the type to rollover and let him play his way back into form.
Bargain corner
West Ham's Michail Antonio has made himself very useful at West Ham in recent weeks. He notched up a goal and assist last time out against Southampton. The Hammers face Liverpool this weekend, who can be got at at the back.
If you're looking for a cheap option at the back, then Bournemouth's Adam Smith is worth looking at after wracking up some decent numbers recently. With home games against West Ham and Norwich coming up later this month, he's a good one to pick up now.
Who should be my captain?
It seems almost too easy to pick the Premier League's most in-form player, but Mesut Ozil gets the nod again this week.
The German should have a field day against Steve McClaren's side and add to his mounting tally of assists.
If you've not got the former Real Madrid man in your side (I can only assume you're a Spurs fan if this is the case) then look to the clash at Goodison to provide some points, as Everton's exciting attacking set-up and frail defence means there is a case to hand either Romelu Lukaku or Harry Kane the armband.
Looking ahead...
Manchester City's frustratingly inconsistent form has made it hard to rely on any of their star names in your fantasy side, but that could soon change.
After this weekend's visit to Watford their schedule opens up. Manuel Pellegrini's men host porous Everton next, followed by Palace, West Ham and Sunderland, where they could go on a run.
Perhaps next week is when you clear the decks for Aguero.
