Transfer news LIVE: Liverpool eye new centre back and Arsenal close in on signing - latest here

Jurgen Klopp admits he will need to add to his squad in this transfer window after three injuries last night - get all the latest here throughout the day

Jurgen Klopp has admitted he'll need to act in the January transfer window after Liverpool's latest injury setbacks.
The Reds boss has been left with NO fit centre-backs after Kolo Toure and Dejan Lovren joined the casualty list.
Meanwhile, Arsenal are closing in on Mohamed Elneny and Emmanuel Adebaoyor is weighing up two Premier League offers.

Ronaldo to leave Real Madrid - report

Big news from the Telegraph.
They report Cristiano Ronaldo has decided to end his Real Madrid career at the end of the season.
Despite Zinedine Zidane taking over from the sacked Rafa Benitez - with whom Ronaldo’s relationship was frosty - the Portuguese still wants to depart.
This has of course been around for a while - Man United and PSG have both spent 18 months making plays for him, but Ronaldo wanted to stay at the Bernabeu in his quest to become Los Blancos’ all-time top scorer.
Having done that however, Ronaldo will now look to move on, as Florentino Perez focuses increasingly on Gareth Bale and James Rodriguez.
One more crack at the Premier League? Mega-money in Paris, replacing Ibra? Or what about further afield?

Blackpool keeping White

Blackpool have sorted a deal to keep Bolton loanee Hayden White on loan until the end of the season.
White, 20, arrived in October and has impressed in 11 appearances since.
“Hayden has done very well in his time with us so far,” manager Neil McDonald said.
“He’s a player I’d previously monitored for some time and I’m delighted that he’s now saying with us until the end of the season.”

Bilic: We won't buy unless they're exceptional

Don’t expect West Ham to be busy this month.
That’s the message from manager Slaven Bilic, who says he’s happy with what he’s got.
Injuries have wreaked havoc in recent months, but a number of key men - including Dimitri Payet - are coming back, and Bilic is delighted with the position they’re in.
“We have a good squad, a big squad, and [it’s] 99 per cent [certain] we will leave it like this and make our signings in the summer,” the Croatian boss told talkSPORT.
“If something exceptional comes along, whether that’s a long-term deal for one great player, or a loan deal for a back-up player for six months, we will do it. But we won’t buy just because it’s the transfer window.”

After losing Demarai Gray, Gary Rowett would be loathe to lose another winger.
And the Blues boss says there is “no substance” to transfer stories linking Dave Cotterill with Brighton.
A move to the south would see Cotterill link up again with Chris Hughton.

Everton close on Swiss youngster

Everton are on the verge of adding young Swiss forward Shani Tarashaj from Grasshopper Zurich, reports Sky Sports.
A £3million deal for the 20-year-old has been mooted, with the player said to have undergone a medical and sorted out personal terms.
Tarashaj, a Swiss-under 21 international will be loaned back to Grasshoppers for the rest of the season as part of the deal.

MK Dons recover a pair

A couple of returnees at MK Dons.
Giorgio Rasulo is back with the Dons after spending two months in League One with Oldham Athletic, making six appearances.
Meanwhile, Kabongo Tshimanga is back with the Dons squad having spent six weeks with National League North outfit Nuneaton Town.

£26million later - Derby done for the season

Big-spending Derby are done for the transfer window.
Having added Nick Blackman and Abdoul Camara this week - taking their overall spending to a cool £26million - manager Paul Clement says the promotion hopefuls have now finished their spending for the season.
“I am pretty sure that will be the case now but the situation can change very quickly if you have an injury in a certain position.
“We know very clearly where we are strong and where we have got slightly less cover, and were we to pick up a serious injury that is going to take more than a week or two weeks to recover from it might be that we have to do something.
“But I think at this point I am very happy with what we have brought in.”

Steve Evans responds to Lewis Cook speculation

Leeds boss Steve Evans has had his say on midfielder Lewis Cook.
The 18-year-old is said to be a transfer target for Bournemouth.
And while Evans says he’s not surprised, he wants to keep the youngster - but admits money may talk in the end.
“It doesn’t surprise me that Eddie Howe is interested in Lewis.
“He’s got absolutely everything, he’s 18 years old, man of the match in most his games.
“From a Leeds United point of view, we want to keep him in the door and as a coach I want to keep him with me as well.
“[But] when it gets to the realms of the type of money that we’ve been talking for Lewis, there’s only one man at Leeds United who will decide and that’s the president”.

Basel teammate wishes Elneny success on his move to Arsenal

Is that it then? Have Arsenal got their man?
Mohamed Elneny has been congratulated on his move from Basel to the Emirates by one of his teammates.
Elneny has held talks over his contract, the clubs have agreed a fee and it increasingly seems a matter of time before the deal is done.
Now Basel teammate Albian Ajeti has wished him all the best on Facebook.
As soon as the Gunners confirm, we’ll have it for you.

Zinedine Zidane's first signing...

Reports in Turkey claim that Zinedine Zidane has requested that Real Madrid sign Mario Gomez.
The Besiktas forward may seem a curious choice for a club that has one of the most glittering front lines ever assembled but they are surprisingly short on depth in attacking areas.
When Karim Benzema was injured we saw Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale both pressed into action as makeshift centre-forwards but neither players wants to play there - and they both carry a lot of sway at the Bernabeu.
Should Gomez arrive in Madrid, as reported by Milliyet, then it would surely mean a departure for Jese, who was struggling for first-team action under Rafael Benitez and would see another obstacle to action in the German.
Jese has been linked with a January loan move to Real Sociedad.

No official offer for Leroy Sane - Schalke

Schalke are in Miami right now and there with the squad is Leroy Sane.
The Man City interest refuses to go away and Schalke are continuing their denials.
This time, general manager Horst Heldt has declared that they are yet to receive an official offer for the German starlet:
“Clemens Tönnies and I keep saying that we haven’t received an official offer from any club, so it makes no sense to make yourself crazy right now”
“So far there are no signs that he want to leave Schalke and we want to continue to keep him under contract.”

Barcelona in talks for Romanian starlet

Barcelona are in talks with Romanian striker Andrei Ivan over a move to the Nou Camp.
The Catalan giants have been banned from making transfers for the last year or so but are more than making up for it by registering 76 new players this week and handing debuts to summer signings Arda Turan and Aleix Vidal in tonight’s Copa del Rey clash with Espanyol. And Ivan, 19, could soon join them.
The Universita de Craiova forward is the talk of Romanian football right now and the nation’s biggest club, Steaua Bucharest, have bid €3million for his services.
But with Barca interested, it remains to see where he ends up.

Man United must drop €50million for Felipe Anderson

Manchester United are set to go in once more for Lazio’s Felipe Anderson.
The 22-year-old midfielder has been linked with a move to Old Trafford for some time with some suggestions that a bid of around €50million was made in the summer.
Club president Claudio Lotito had no intention of doing a deal at that price back then but after a slightly underwhelming season Gazzetta dello Sport are today reporting that a similar bid could well now be enough to prise him away.
Brazilian international Anderson would add pace, trickery and dynamism that United have sorely lacked of late and projects to be a replacement on the left side for Memphis Depay who has failed to impress after his big-money summer move.
Lazio appear very much ready to sell and have apparently handpicked Stephan El Shaarawy of rivals Milan as his replacement.
